I can not believe I am posting this disgusting sight on my blog. I just wanted you to see firsthand how I have lived in filth. However, in my defense, I DID have chair covers on my dining room chairs to cover the various stains upon them. Before I bought the chair covers a friend of Chookie's came over for the first time and when she happened upon the coverless chairs she gasped in horror "THOSE are your chairs!?" Right then I decided "No more! I will not be humiliated by a mere child!"
Well, I soon tired of the covers and always dreamed of recovering the chairs someday. Enter my sister, Vivi. Boy if she knew what I had in store for her when I invited her to come and spend a few days with me while Sweets was in Alaska she would have turned tail and run far far away.
Vivi was more than up for the task and her interior designing skills surpassed my wildest dreams. It was cool to see her mind at work, or her inspiration, rather. Vivi would get bombarded by all these beautiful ideas to beautify not only my kitchen but my living room as well! Here I will document project by project my sister's great talents for all to enjoy:

The brand new chair covers. Chookie saw the fabric first and Vivi and I fell in love with it. We stayed up until 4 o'clock in the A.M. to get these projects done before the Sweets' arrival on Saturday morning. We laughed hysterically at all the noise we were making, what with the continuous staple gunning and blaring music to keep things lively!

The wall was an olive green before, but we decided it HAD to be brown (Bon Bon to be exact) to pull it all together. A new vase to match too! Vivi knocked this out in about 5 minutes flat! My mouth is still gaping open in awe of that woman's efficiency!
I love these new drapes she made. I actually installed some wrought iron hold-backs to...well, to hold them back.
What about this cute little curtain though!? Man if I had even the tiniest bit of talent and vision....! Vivi told me this was her favorite thing in my new kitchen. I love it too.
On to the living room now. Sweets and I had been talking about putting up something like this a while back, but we never found anything we liked. I love these colors and I am so happy how beautiful everything turned out!
I had bought this platter a long time ago when I fell in love with it at Target and I always envisioned it above my fireplace. My sister inspired me to finally hang it up.
I bought a new copper lamp and Wah-lah a new living area!
How could I forget the matching pillows that Vivi created?!
Thank you thank you big sister! My home feels so much cozier and I am in love with everything! I am so proud of your extraordinary talents and that I get to be reminded of you everyday when I look around happily at the new transformation!
I LOVE YOU!!!

Wow! That is SO awesome! I am DYING for some change around here. Seriously! Argh! If only I knew if we were selling or not. And if only Chancho wasn't terrified of me trying anything. But I actually now have a notebook and have been redesigning my rooms. Do you think Vivi could come stay at my house for awhile? Good job on all of the fun projects! I also love the curtain above the sink and must add something like that to my new kitchen plans. What did Sweets think?
Pris! I love that!!!! My favorite thing in the world is making old, new or different..I think that is why I get hooked on the home make over shows. I love love the fresh colors for spring and summer! Man I wish my whole house wasn't in the process of an overhaul so I could be doing decorating! I love the brown wall too!!!!
Sweets liked it except for the brown wall; which he thought was too dark...too dark altogether.
Once I got the hold-backs for the curtains it was a lot better though.
I had to wait for old sweets to leave before doing anything because he always gets so scared to try anything withour researching it for months on end AND he gets scared that I might drag him into my madness by having to help in some way that he wasn't planning on.
I suggest you wait 'til Chanchito is gone, THEN we get Vivi to come over and BAM!!! New house!
Wow! You were busy & everything looks so fresh & sassy! I think we all need a Vivi in our lives-she is amazing. Is she for hire? My biggest problem with my house is there are no drapes! I've got to do something soon.
Holy smokes!! I am so jealous! Not only is your blog looking super cool, but your whole house!! I love it! I love love love that turquoise color. It all looks so good!! Why don't I have a Vivi and why do I just sit about with my plain white walls and no decorations all the live long day when I could have something like THAT!!
So thats what you've been up to! congratulations. I just moved my furniture around and it feels so much better. But customized cushions drapes and pillows you can't beat that!! I am glad you had a sweet week while Sweets was gone.
My mom is pretty cool, if I do say so myself! She left back home today, and managed to clean my whole house, make us dinner and wash all my laundry before she left! Yah, I guess it sounds like I am a slob...but really, my mom is just that extra help everyone needs from time to time. I LOVE MY MOMMY!
