5 Cool Things About Pikachu

Ok, so I have been tagged to disclaim five cool things about my 14 year old, Pikachu (or Pika..agh..agh...ACHOO!!!) Easy! Here we go:

1) He makes me laugh like crazy with his expressions, comments, and random thoughts accompanied by hilarious expressions and/or comments! See below..."Fat guy in a little coat":

2) He is very thoughtful at times, asking what he can do when he sees the exhaustion on my face and the slump in my shoulders.

3) He is so artistically talented. He could already draw better than his own mother at age 4...no exaggeration! I will add some cool examples of his work once Sweets gets back with the camera from backpacking. He does not even KNOW how he is stunting my blogging creativity right now!

4) He is musically talented. He loves music! As of now he can play the guitar and the drums...and secretly I know he can sing the heck out of any Queen or Zeppelin song, but he just pretends like he doesn't see me seeing him.

5) Currently Pika and I are training for the Park City Half Marathon in August. My sister-in-law, Allison, called to see whether Pika would be interested because her son Sam is running the half. When I asked Pik he got super excited and really wanted to do it. We have been running and I admire his motivation and his stick-to-itness even though he has had a bad cough for the last month and has been hacking up unspeakably ugly gunk from his chest.

All in all, I like the kid. He's fun to hang out with and lately we have been making up our own versions of Carls Jr. commercials; which typically, I really intensely loathe the real commercials, but ours would sell billions. Like the one where some business executive is kicking back in his nice leather chair with his feet propped up on his sweet mahogany desk and in comes his meek little receptionist and quietly peeps out that there is an important CEO of some important zillion-dollar company on line one for him then he blows up at her infuriated that she would have the gall to interrupt him..."DON"T BOTHER ME!!! I"M EATING!!!" He bellows and then opens his top desk drawer where he pulls out a sling shot and proceeds to pummel her with his ginormous Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger followed by the remaining fries.

On with th e tagging then: I would love to know 5 more cool things about your Abby, Cass. More on Tasha's First Born/The Senator, Nancy's little flower, Daisy, Pooka's Jaycon Jones, and last but certainly not least...Flodi's Isa. Go to it girls!

OH, I love your little Pik. Why is he so super cool? I thought your commercials were a MILLION times better than the real ones (which by the way make my dad snort in disgust and say "idiots" it's so cool), why on earth don't they use slingshots!!

It seems so fun to have kids old enough to just be true fun pals.

P.S. I also meant to add, I think that is so cool that he is running the half marathon with you. I am totally going to make my kids do that even if they hate it.

Oh yeah, once when I was living at your house one of those commercials came on and your dad snorted "DUMB DICKS!" I wanted so badly to put that on my post but decided I wouldn't smudge your good father's name there (like it's better to do it here on comments!), but the man was right!
Yes, you should ALWAYS make your kids do stuff they hate, it builds character.

nancy, you wish that dad only called them "idiots" in the carl's jr. commercials, but Chris and i heard the truth with our own ears and nearly cried ourselves to sleep laughing. p, if you don't remember what he called them, you better ask sweets. then post it here. i am laughing my head off again just thinking about it.

on to pik, i feel sad that i never see him. and, oh shoot, i see you already remembered what my dad called the carls jr guys. hahahaha. i'm trying to write about pikachu and all i can think about is how disgusted my dad was at the guys snarfing down their noisy, drippy, $6 hamburgers.

I love little Pikachu, who happens to not be so little anymore. This post was touching because I feel like he has grown up so fast without me even noticing. You tell him how much I love him...I fell in love with him the first day you brought him to meet us all.....

Dad's exact phrase while watching a Carl's Jr. commercial...."Dumb Dicks!" Yeah, he hates those adds alright..

Is Carl's Junior the same as Jack in the Box where I live??? Or Hardees? I hate all those commercials and I would pay money to see a video of Gords watching one! You have not smeared his good name - you only made him more wonderful in my own eyes! You Allreds are A-OK!

So, nancy and perla seem to think that I really need to read something that your hubs wrote about SIGNS. Because I have issues with the crazy man who wrote that crazy movie! And all the other crazy movies. Will you send it to me on my profile so I can laugh myself to sleep tonight instead of wondering what it is that I am forgetting to pack?

love your guts already and I don't even know you!

I love Nick! He is one talented kid-calm, & mature beyond his years. I have to say he is the best "youth speaker" I've ever heard too! I need to see his latest artwork-bring some when we watch the backpacking trip photos. That should cheer Mick up from having to stay home & work.
